- It will feature a rotating cast of artists with colors by Michael Woods and letters by Luca Bertelè
Funplus’ hit RPG strategy Sea of Conquest takes its first step into the world of transmedia promotion, which is something not directly related to the game for you and me. Now fans and newcomers alike to the world of Sea of Conquest will be able to experience it through an electrifying comic book series, Cradle of the Gods.
Following the main character, the infamous pirate Henry Hells, in the company of childhood friends Lavender and Cecily, it follows their journey through the Devil Seas as they face off against the mysterious Ancient Order. Cradle of the Gods boasts an all-star production team including writers Griffin Sheridan and Ethan S. Parker, fresh from their work on the Kill your Darlings series at Image Comics.
Art will be provided by a rotating cast, with Michael Woods providing colors and Luca Bertelè providing text. Meanwhile, issue 1 features a gorgeous cover by Rome-based artist Simone D’Armini.
Into the world of four colors
I admit that I was quite surprised by the debut of this up-to-date comic. While Sea of Conquest boasts great character designs and a charmingly pirate-themed world, it seems Funplus has no intention of resting on its laurels or dodgy YouTube advertising. The comic book series is certainly an intriguing experiment and a great chance to expand the world of Sea of Conquest without committing to anything bigger.
