Fans of the Silent Hill 2 remake will love this amazing Easter egg from the HD collection

Published:

The 2012 Silent Hill HD collection is probably best known to fans for inexplicably changing the font of the Silent Hill Ranch sign to Comic Sans. It was a modification of the beloved original that amazed Silent Hill fans and became infamous in the 12 years since the HD Collection was released.

Fans had been wondering what font Bloober would utilize for its remake prior to release, so now that early access is available, it was a bit of a relief to discover that the developers had indeed ditched the HD Collection’s Comic Sans mark in favor of the original. User X/Twitter @Wario64 showed off this fresh/ancient look.

However, Silent Hill 2 Remake players have discovered that if you jump or go outside the borders in the PC version of the Silent Hill Ranch in the PC version, you can find the Comic Sans sign from the HD collection among other discarded trash in the abandoned warehouse (exactly where fans will say that you should).

Twitter user/X @GmanLives revealed this change, confirmed by other users, declaring Silent Hill 2 Remake GOTY for this amazing nod to Silent Hill HD Collection.

The apparent Easter Egg certainly goes down well with Silent Hill fans. “…Bloober Team and Konami are truly amazing in this respect” said NONAMEDREDDITER. “…Bloober is officially god-level,” Low-Positive5888 added. “Bloober, my heart grows bigger and bigger for you every day,” stinkyratboiii said. “Suck it, HD collection!” declared cyb0rganna.

Overall, Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 remake has a good reputation among fans and is certainly a hit with critics. But trolls are trying to spoil the fun – the Wikipedia page for the Silent Hill 2 remake had to be closed after a list of press ratings was edited to lower them. Check the Silent Hill 2 Remake global release times to find out when it will be available to play in your region.
