Throughout Baldur’s Gate 3choosing your character’s race is one of the most critical decisions you will make. It influences a lot of dialogue throughout the game and changes the way some characters treat your Tav.
As with every aspect of the game, Baldur’s Gate 3 has tons of mods adding up-to-date races. Some are based on D&D lore, while others are home-brewed by fans. If you are starting over Baldur’s Gate 3 gameplay, why not consider one of these racing mods?
Flutter and Fantasy (Fairy Race)
Flutter and Fantasy (Fairy Race) may be the most polished mod on this list. You can play Baldur’s Gate 3 as a fairy, complete with customizable wings. The fairies have their own custom tricks and spells, including Tinify, which shrinks you down to size.
If you exploit others Baldur’s Gate 3 customization mods, Flutter and Whimsy (Fairy Race), including compatibility fixes for many of the most popular Nexus downloads.
Half Angel (Aasimar 5E)

Half Angel (Aasimar 5E) draws inspiration from 2016 Dungeons and dragons source book, Volo’s Guide to Monstersto bring the Aasimar race Baldur’s Gate 3. This winged race consists of three unique sub-races that are suitable for different gameplay, each with a prosperous history.
If you like sitting Baldur’s Gate 3character creator spend many hours thinking about every detail, you will get a lot out of Half Angel (Aasimar 5E). Creator DarthRen added 25 halos and horns, as well as 10 wings and tails. Not to mention unique hairstyles and heads!
Ghastly Ghouls – A playable race of undead

If there’s one thing about Larian’s previous game, Divinity: Original Sin 2it’s over Baldur’s Gate 3is the ability to play as undead. Not anymore. Ghastly Ghouls – A playable race of undead solves this problem with four subraces: Lich, Ghoul, Wight, and Mummy. Each of them has custom heads and bodies, which means you can change the appearance of your Undead at will.
This mod makes my immersion obsessed heart content. Uses the standard “Undead” tag for your Tav, affecting the effect of various spells on you. Some you’ll be immune to, while others, like Undead Turn, will make you more vulnerable.
Dunmer – a playable race of Dark Elves

Adding a race with Elder Scrolls not very tradition cordial, but Dunmer – a playable race of Dark Elves it was just too comprehensive to leave off this list. I mean, let’s take a look at what it is Baldur’s Gate 3 racing mod includes.
Six subraces “inspired by the Great Houses, House Dagoth, and the Ashlanders.” Seven up-to-date spells, all of which have custom visual effects. 11 unique heads, 50 skin tones and 19 hand-drawn tattoos. AND There are custom earrings based on The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. A truly imperative mod.
Half-dragon

Half-dragon is based on the original homebrew TTRPG system created by the author’s husband, Johauna. Four races have been added, and numerous subclasses have been carefully designed to provide fun gameplay.
The most critical event here is the ability to assume the form of a dragon. It’s fun every time and that’s reason enough to try it Baldur’s Gate 3 mod. This seems like it should have been part of the base game from the very beginning.
Spiritual Seasons – Playable Fey Eladrin

There’s a lot to fall in love with Thrilling Seasons – Playable Fey Eladrinespecially to enjoy creating gorgeous Tavs that look great in a screenshot. This adds the Eladrin race with four subraces depending on the season, extensive customization options, and unique spells.
The only drawback is that you can’t change seasons during the game like you can with Eladrin Dungeons and dragons. This is due to technical limitations of changing subraces during the game. Don’t let this put you off – this is one of the most polished out there Baldur’s Gate 3 racing mods available.
Whispers of the Fey – Goblin Race

Goblins exist in Baldur’s Gate 3so why can’t we play as them? Whispers of the Fey – Goblin Race solves this problem by adding two up-to-date subraces: the Greenskin Goblin and the Dankwood Goblin. You can customize your Goblin just like you would a regular Tav. There’s even a custom Mercenary named Ol’ Shiny that you can take with you on your adventures.
If that hasn’t convinced you, playing as Goblin will give you access to a baby squirrel who will accompany you throughout Faerûn. I, for one, am sold.
Playable Myconid race

Remember the Myconids? Those mushroom pickers you meet Baldur’s Gate 3Underdark? You’ve probably never considered the fact that you can’t play as one, but with Playable Myconid racenow you can. Who asked for this? Who cares!
Understandably, the customization of this racing mod is confined, so you can choose from models already available Baldur’s Gate 3. Creator porridge77 admits it’s a little cheesy, but for the novelty factor alone it’s difficult to beat and definitely worth a spot on your charge order.
Hearts of the Forest – a playable race of Dryads

Like the previous mod, Hearts of the Forest – a playable race of Dryads takes a race already in the game and makes it playable. Given their humanoid form, it’s a bit surprising that they aren’t playable in the base game, but regardless, this mod solves that problem.
Developer EmeraldTechno has gone to great lengths to create up-to-date male Dryads. It’s not plot cordial, but the end result looks great, so they get a pass here.
Wine and Revelry (Satyr Race)

Using Wine and Revelry (Satyr Race) this is a way to guarantee uniqueness Baldur’s Gate 3 game. The main attraction here are the toe-toed legs, which of course are not possible in the base game.
The developer has added many customization options to refine the Wine and Feast (Satyr Race), including various tail, horn and ear options to provide total flexibility in using the Satyr Tav.
