South Korean publisher Krafton has confirmed that it has signed a licensing agreement with Palworld developer, Pocketpair. We’ll see the deal PUBG: Battlegrounds developer, PUBG Studios, bring Palworld for the first time on mobile devices.
Advertised as “Pokemon with weapons” by fans, Palworld turned out to be an unexpected, huge success after the game was released in early access earlier this year. Few, especially Pocketpair, could have expected the stunning sales results when it stormed to the top of the charts on PC and Xbox consoles in early 2024.
Player numbers have since declined in recent months, although the recent PlayStation 5 release has helped attract novel fans. Nintendo and The Pokemon Company suing Pocketpair also played a role in the upkeep Palworld recently in the news.
Krafton confirmed Palworldupcoming wa mobile port statement on its websiteand its subsidiary PUBG Studios continues to work on the project. The announcement did not provide a release window for Palworld on Android and iOS, although it did confirm that it “plans to faithfully reinterpret and implement the original’s core fun elements to suit the mobile environment.” Time will tell whether this will result in significant changes to the gameplay.
