The Eastern Temple it’s a mini dungeon The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom this is home for “Let’s play a game” side quest. You will have to defeat a monster in the temple of archaeologist Sago, who wants to continue his work there.
Including Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom guide, we will show you how to get through the Eastern Temple and complete the “Let’s Play a Game” quest, including how to defeat the temple boss, Smog.
Location of the Eastern Temple and how to start “Let’s Play a Game”
Go to the Eastern Temple, which is located east of Hyrule Castle.
At the entrance you will meet Sago, who will tell you that he wants to carry out archaeological work in the temple, but he heard a strange voice asking him to play and he is afraid that there are monsters inside. You will need to cleanse this monster to let it do its job.
Right at the entrance to the Eastern Temple, you will be greeted by two sparks moving synchronously around a pair of pillars. The sparks do not damage Zelda, but they temporarily stun her and push her back.
You can use obstacles to push the sparks out of the way and let you pass, or you can overcome them by using the enemy’s ranged echoes. If you do this, you will be able to learn it Echo of a sparkwhich will come in handy later. Either way, head forward to get deeper into the temple.
There are three sparks in this room and a cube-shaped mechanism in the corner. If you watch for a few seconds (avoiding sparks!) you will see that one of the sparks will enter the mechanism and ignite it.
To open the door, you need to throw the remaining two sparks into the cube. You can do this by grabbing them with Bindu. It will be easier to time them if you catch them between two obstacles first. Go through the open door to reach the next room.
In this room, you also need to change the path of the sparks so that they reach the cube. First, approach the boulder and the small wall in the northern part of the room using a table. Then grab one of the sparks with X and go up the makeshift stairs.
Once the sparks are at the height of the cube, you can release them and they should eventually intersect with the cube. Go through the door that is now open.
There are two sparks in this room guarding a chest. Since you can’t move them from there with Bind, you can use a ranged enemy echo like moblin’s spear to defeat them. The moblin’s spear accuracy isn’t great against a moving enemy, but it will get him eventually!
Open the chest to get it five rock salts then go down the ladder on the west side of this room.
In this 2D room, there are some sparks swirling around the upper platforms and there is a caromadillo on the floor. Defeat the caromadillo using the enemy echo to get it Caromadillo Echo Lv. 2. You can then either defeat the sparks or avoid them using precise timing to enter the next room on the right.
In this room, sparks enter the water, electrifying a small radius around them. However, they are not too difficult to avoid. Swim to the bottom of the pool to open the chest 50 rupees in it, then continue right. Be sure to pause if avoiding the boulder would cause you to hit a spark, but you should be able to get out the other side without too much trouble. Go down the stairs to enter the next room.
It’s a bit of a respite, with two pots you can break, but no enemies.
How to defeat Smog, the boss of the Eastern Temple
Entering this room will start a boss fight in the Eastern Temple, called the Electric Cloud Smog.
Smog will move around this maze-like area, shooting balls of lightning at you. The swordsman form won’t be of much use to you here, as Smog can electrocute Zelda with his sword.
Summon enemy ranged mobs such as moblin’s spearat intersections to get a good shot at Smog. You can also tie him up briefly to give him a little more time to shoot. This will also reverse the direction of smog.
After three hits, Smog will undergo a “round” and break into three smaller pieces. You’ll need to observe their patterns, interrupt and block them with boulders to force them to reconnect before you can deal more damage to him.
Once the Smog comes back in one piece, repeat the steps to break it again, this time into five pieces. Once again, turn these pieces into one giant Smog while avoiding the electricity. Note that the one in the upper right corner is trapped and you will have to push the boulder to free it.
All you need to do now is hit Smog three more times with the echo of enemy attacks and you’ll be done with this boss battle! You’ll get plenty Rupees ia Piece of Heart as a reward. You will be teleported back to the eastern temple room #1 so you can go outside and tell Sago the good news.
Sago will give it to you ancient charm which reduces the amount of injury sustained while wearing it. This will complete the “Let’s Play a Game” quest.
After completing this quest, if you get far enough in the game to complete the Faron Wetlands rift, you will be able to start the “Cotton Candy Hunt” quest in the Hidden Ruins, which leads from this quest.
