Horses appear in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Riding one will speed up your journey, but before you can take them for a spin, you’ll need to complete a few side quests first: “Runaway Horse” and then “Impa’s Gift.”
Our Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom the guide will tell you where to find Hyrule Ranch and how to complete the side quests “Runaway Horse” and “Impa’s Gift” to obtain Zelda’s horse.
Hyrule Ranch location in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Both side quests related to horses in Echoes of Wisdom take place in Hyrule Ranch. You’ll be able to reach it once you’re free to explore the world at the beginning of the game, but getting Zelda’s horse will require you to reach halfway through the game.
How to get a horse and complete “Runaway Horse”
When you get to Hyrule Ranch for the first time you will be informed that you cannot borrow any of the horses because one of them has run away.
Talk to the man on the west side of the ranch to pick it up “Runaway Horse” side quest. He will tell you to look west.
Exit through the gate on the south side of the ranch and turn west (left). From there, go straight west. Just a screen or two and you’ll spot the missing horse on a rock pillar in a miniature pond.
Use the Echo and Bind combo to catch the horse and then bring it back to the ranch.
Once you return your horse, you can borrow horses from the ranch whenever you want.
How to complete Impa’s Gift and summon a horse
After completing the main story mission “Still Missing” and close the gap in Hyrule Castle, Impa will be in the Throne Room with a side quest for you. Talk to her there and you’ll start “Impa’s Gift” side quest.
Back to Hyrule Ranch and west again. Talk to the woman there. Shortly afterwards, the boy commanding your steed will come running and point you to a modern crevice nearby carrot slice.
When you arrive, hop into the Rift. You have to find it four Tri’s friend groups.
Head north and climb the vertical wall.
At the top, head left and cross the gap with a bed bridge (or whatever echo you want to operate) to find your first friends.
Continue left and go down to the floating island with four huge boulders. Use Bind move boulders (or throw them off the island). The northernmost one houses the second group of friends.
Continue down and around in a counterclockwise direction. When you come to a miniature clearing with crates, move the first one you come across to reveal some stairs.
At the bottom of the stairs, take out the bokoblins to find the third group of friends.
Continue east (right) until you reach a maze-like forest path with more chests. The easternmost chest contains another ladder.
The first step in the mini-dungeon is to go around the entire route in a counterclockwise direction. We moved the platform to the column on the right and then placed the bed and chest on it. This should get you to the top. Go left and jump on the button.
On your way back down, turn the platform inside out (or echo it). Ride it up and then start destroying the crates there caromadillo Or bomb fish (or Swordfighter character bombs). Once you’re done, grab the last group of friends and seal the rift.
Once back outside, Zelda’s horse will still be hiding. Use Bind on the carrot to lure it back and finish “Impa’s Gift.”
Remember to grab another carrot with Bind and then learn Echo of the carrot. This way you will summon your horse wherever you go (otherwise you will have to return to Hyrule Ranch every time you want a modern horse).
