Tonight was the annual Minecraft Preview Broadcast. As part of the showcase, Mojang showed off some of the future updates coming to the game. First up: the Bundles Of Bravery update, which will add a proper hardcore mode to Bedrock Edition, as well as bundles that will allow you to carry more items in your inventory during your adventures.
Hardcore Mode adds eternal death to Minecraft, giving you only one life and automatically generating a modern world when you inevitably succumb to the creeper. This hardcore option has existed in the Java Edition of Minecraft for a long time, but in Bedrock you either had to manually delete and generate a modern world every time you died, or block it with an unsatisfying paid mod from the Bedrock marketplace.
Bundles Of Bravery adds a uncomplicated toggle you can add when generating a world that appears to exist regardless of other difficulty settings. My kid, who watches hardcore Minecraft videos on YouTube all day long, will love this.
The sets are quite uncomplicated: the crafted bag you can put your items in only takes up one slot in your inventory. Mojang says that in senior Minecraft there were fewer types of blocks, so a mining expedition would fill less of your inventory because dirt and cobblestone would accumulate in your inventory. With kits you can recreate something similar by taking all your Andesite, Diorite and Calcite and putting them in a bag.
These bags were available in Java and Bedrock preview versions from Augustbut they were also previously tested and scrapped back in 2020. This time it looks like they will survive.
There’s no release date for Bundles Of Bravery yet, but Mojang recently announced that it intends to release fewer, smaller updates to Minecraft from now on. This one should join us soon.
