On September 26, SNK announced Street fighterKen Masters and Chun-Li join the lineup for the upcoming game Deadly Fury title. The announcement was made in progress developer block in Tokyo Game Show along with the trailer.
It will come just a few days later Deadly Fury the release of the main character Terry Bogard in Street Fighter 6the news that Capcom characters are also making their way into SNK’s intellectual property has fired up the fighting game community.
Beloved YouTuber Maximilian Dood’s hilarious reaction to the trailer is here remembered into oblivionand there are questions swirling in the rumor pool regarding the continued working relationship between the two fighting game titans.
Fighting game players, especially the older generation, are familiar with previous crossovers between Capcom and SNK such as Capcom vs. SNK games and SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos SVC. These crossover titles have a legendary reputation and have played a key role in the development of FGC. They are so deeply ingrained in the community that CvS games sat in EVO when it was still called Battle by the Bay.
2003 was the last year that players received a full crossover fighting game from both developers, but featuring Terry and Mai Shiranui SF6 and Ken and Chun Fatal Fury: City of Wolvesit’s very likely that someone is already working on it. But Street fighter the crossover isn’t the only one SNK is currently working on, as the company strangely announced involvement of soccer star Ronaldo in a novel title just the day before.
Deadly Fury is available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC ahead of its launch on April 24, 2025.
