Granny from Merge Mansion wants you to have green hands

Merge Mansion Participates in Green Game Jaman annual challenge where game studios and live game developers build “green activations” to shine a lithe on the importance of environmental topics. So even from the comfort of your gaming chair or couch, you can do something to facilitate save the planet.

Protecting nature and the environment is at the forefront of everyone’s minds, with the looming threat of climate change and a host of other issues plaguing our planet. But the Green Game Jam hopes to open up the conversation and get you involved in all things, well, green. Big names in the gaming space, like PUBG, are also taking part in the Green Game Jam, a challenge organized by We play for Planet Alliance and made easier by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)all aimed at helping the gaming industry reduce its negative impact on the environment.

As part of this initiative, beloved puzzle creator Merge Mansion has created the Green Acres Quest, a special event running from September 2nd to 14th that focuses on the importance of restoring the beauty of nature and supporting local biodiversity through tiny, everyday actions that all players can take. In this limited-time event that requires a green thumb, you’ll need to combine and deliver items to create a blossoming community garden. Plant those seeds and put on your best straw hat, because you need to transform a section of the Mansion grounds into a stunning, communal green space that will encourage all kinds of flora and fauna to return to the area.

This event takes place on the second board and features a collectible community garden that you can keep after the event as a reminder of all your demanding work and as inspiration to be eco-friendly in real life. It may seem basic, but it’s often the most effective way to remind yourself that we’re all just floating on a space rock that we need to take care of. Even we, the players, can have a positive impact on our environment.

Merge Mansion has over 55 million downloads, so by joining the Green Game Jam, developer Metacore hopes to remind us all of our green thumbs. The studio is also a founding member Game Foresta project that brought together – pun intended – the Finnish game development community to protect biodiversity in Finland. Admirable and ecological.

If those green thumbs are itching, we’ve got our picks for the best farm games you can play right now, as well as the best cozy games for when you just want to kick back and relax after a day of activism. But don’t forget to take out the recycling.
