While fighting in PvE Operation missions in Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2you will eventually encounter the boss Heldrake. In the main campaign you don’t have to fight this beast. But in Operations you have to defeat it.
Main campaign in Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2 sees you fight through the Tyranid hordes before uncovering a twisted plot started by the leader of the Thousand Suns Chaos Space Marine chapter. In Operations mode, you’ll play the other side of many of the raids Titus takes part in, including one incredible battle with the Heldrake. It’s quite Warhammer 40KA version of the dragon, but it is a product of the Warp and therefore very enraged and tough to kill.
How to defeat the boss Heldrake in Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2
When you first encounter the Heldrake boss in Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2you will see that it is resistant to damage. The beast will shield itself with its wings so that all bullets and grenades fly away from it without harm. Then it will also open its wings from time to time to try to damage you with fire.
You can’t defeat him with bullets alone. Instead, you need to look around the stained glass windows in the arena for glowing symbols. When you see one, you need to look for a green terminal with the appropriate symbol and activate it. This will cause a huge beam to hit Heldrake and leave him open for the damage phase.

During each damage phase, you need to shoot Heldrake as much as possible. These phases don’t last long, so the beast will re-cover itself as you utilize up every bit of health. It’s critical to deal a lot of damage, as this will raise your chances of survival as more and more enemies pile up throughout the fight.
You’ll have to kill a lot of Thousand Suns Space Marines and minions during this fight. I almost died a few times, but I definitely took a mortal wound. This is probably the most brutal fight in Operations, so don’t go into it trying out a recent class. Use one you have experience with.
In my experience, this boss should take three or four damage phases to defeat. You need to stick with your team throughout the fight. If you don’t, one of them might fall and die because you’re too far away to revive them in time. The same thing can happen to you. Don’t be a burden or a bad teammate. Stick together and support each other.
There’s nothing to do once he’s dead, as this is the distraction Titus needs to do what he does in the main campaign. Enjoy your victory once you’ve killed this monster, as this is by far the most tough boss fight of all the Operations missions. Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2‘s start.
