Of course, I’m referring to the recently unveiled PlayStation 5 Pro$1,199.95 (AUD) deal that’s set to launch on November 7 (pre-sale starts on September 26). If that eye-watering retail price doesn’t scare you, or you just love great games, you’ll want to get your hands on some of “Enhanced for PS5 Pro” titles to showcase this beast. In retro news, I wear a slime-shaped piñata with the number “16” on it Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen. For many Australians, the aforementioned Nintendo DS port was our gateway into this legendary RPG series (due to the lack of local releases of the first three titles on NES). It turned out pretty well, as IV is the first in a trilogy called Zenithia, and despite its age, the episodic, time-hopping story held up pretty well (i.e. first learn the backstories of your four future companions, then the hero’s quest to recruit them all). Speaking of classic hits, I can’t wait to play the light-up version of its predecessor, titled Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.

Wonder sets a fresh standard for what a 2D Mario platformer should look like. It’s colorful, dynamic, and happy. It also manages to surprise and delight me in increasingly inventive ways with Wonder’s unpredictable effects. 9/10.
