Star Wars Outlaws has its first major patch. Title update 1.1.2 weighs in at 1.92GB on PlayStation 5, 2.25GB on Xbox Series X and S, and 1.89GB on PC.
Patch information posted on the website Ubisoft websitebegins by thanking fans “for the incredible positivity and support since the launch of Star Wars Outlaws! Your passion, love for Kay, Nix, our open world, and all your amazing creations in our Photo Mode have been a true inspiration to the entire team.”
Ubisoft said the patch focuses on early feedback to address various issues and PC performance, as well as overall stability. In addition, cross-progression and saves via Ubisoft Connect are now available.
But the most critical thing is improving what Ubisoft called “a few tricky sneaking moments.” With this patch, you’re now less likely to be detected while rolling, and the level of detection is adjusted based on your location.
Creative director Julian Gerighty admitted that Outlaws’ stealth missions failing immediately were “incredibly punishing,” and hinted that they’d be fixed soon. “To me, that’s a bug and something we’ll be working on to improve,” he said.
“I don’t think it means completely removing the state of failure, but I think there are millions of low-hanging fruits that we can use to make it a lot more enjoyable and understandable.”
“I think it’s unfair. And believe it or not, that wasn’t our intention. It’s more something that crept in over the last week or two that we’re already correcting for a fix that’s supposed to come out maybe in 10 days.”
The update, which is live now, also means that the Old School Cool trophy can be unlocked for PS5 players, allowing them to finally earn the game’s platinum trophy.
“As we continue to work on future updates for Star Wars Outlaws, we will be listening closely to your feedback and experiences in the game,” Ubisoft said. “Thank you for your support, and we’ll see you in the Outer Rim!”
The commercial appeal of Star Wars Outlaws is a subject of much debate. Last week, Ubisoft’s share price plummeted after its release game that some analysts say won’t be as good as expected. And this week, a minority investor in Ubisoft called for the company to be privatized as the stock price fell even further. Ubisoft has yet to comment on the matter.
IGN Star Wars Outlaws Review returned a 7/10 rating. We said: “Star Wars Outlaws is a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it’s hampered by basic stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs early on.”
