Soul System in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow allows for great customization and gameplay. Collecting souls for the best weapons is also required. Each weapon series has a chain of upgrades to create stronger weapons using souls. This guide will aid you create the strongest and most versatile weapons.
How to Collect Souls for Fusion
Obtaining different souls is a bit of a confusing process, so we’ll quickly outline the best practices. First of all, you’ll need a Soul Eater Ring. The problem is that it’s not available until the second half of the game. To make matters worse, it’s ridiculously steep, costing 300,000g. But once you get it, it doubles the rate at which enemies drop their souls when you defeat them.
The best way to get a specific soul is to find a place where you can easily farm the monster that drops it. It’s best to find a place where you can quickly exit a room and return to reset the monsters. You can enter, kill the monster, see if it drops the soul, then exit and re-enter. This is a bit tedious, although the late-game Black Panther soul allows for a quick rush.
Luck, as it turns out, doesn’t aid at all. Increasing your Luck stat does a fraction of a percent to augment your Soul drops. Honestly, it’s better to make sure you have gear that helps you defeat enemies faster. That said, if you also want to farm items dropped by enemies, Luck isn’t a bad thing. Just don’t focus on it. Hard mode quadruples Luck’s effect on Soul drops, but that’s still not a very helpful amount.
Finally, if you are playing on Castlevania: Dominus Collectionthere is another cheat. Whether an enemy drops a soul is determined at the time of killing that enemy. Considering how Dominus Collection has a brisk forward function, meaning you can constantly go back in time a few seconds and try again. This is especially useful for enemies like Final Armor that take forever to kill AND have a scarce chance to drop. It’s a very useful tool and I highly recommend it.
