Oh my, players are still sending the Once Human developers their feedback about Season 2 and apparently it’s “pretty demotivating.”
Once Human didn’t have the smoothest start for a live game, with players not being cheerful with the seasonal resets and the frustrating wait times on the server, but that’s just part of the game sometimes. However, it seems that the second season of the game wasn’t to players’ liking, and Starry Studio has responded to the complaints on the Once Human Discord server (thanks, Eurogamer). In a statement, the developer explained: “We’ve received a lot of feedback since the start of Season 2.

“Some of this was pretty demotivating, but the important thing is that it made us realize how the changes we made impacted your experience. We wanted to discuss some of these issues today. We value your feedback and hope to be able to address all of your requests in future updates. Our development team is making optimizations in response to two major issues players have reported, which we’d also like to hear your feedback on!”
The two main issues mentioned there are with weapon builds and scenario tags, with the developer noting that he understands that some players thought they were “designed players” and that other players feel frustrated that there are no longer any high-difficulty tags. As for weapon builds, Starry will be adding a blueprint conversion system to the game, which will essentially allow players to change armor and weapon ratings. As for scenario tags, Starry hasn’t figured that out yet, so he invited players to another survey to try to understand what exactly players want.
Starry probably has nothing to worry about, as at the time of writing, over 114,000 people are playing the game on Steam (via SteamDB Database), a very vigorous number for a live-service game. James recently spoke to the creators of Once Human, who hope the game will be able to be “used for decades.” Let’s see if they can work through these teething problems in the meantime!
