How to Unlock the Earthen Allied Race in World of Warcraft

Published:

While there are no modern core playable races or classes in the game, Internal waris an unlockable race you can add to your roster. Sure, Earthen are no newbies World of Warcraft. However, the particular type we find has been hidden from the rest of the world for several millennia. Now, they are ready to join the ranks of the Horde and Alliance, and this guide will show you how.

What are the requirements to unlock the Earthling allied race?

A key requirement for this modern group of playable characters is a enormous investment in Internal warStory. There are four specific items that are needed to earn the achievement called “Allied Races: Earthen”. Once you earn this achievement, the modern race is yours.

These achievement elements will form the main story campaign, as well as specific side quests focusing on the life of the Earthen race. These requirements are:

  • Internal warCampaign: Each of the four zones has a specific set of campaign quests to complete, and a fifth set of quests exists at max level. That’s a lot of story content to sift through. Fortunately, it’s very basic to identify exactly which quests you need to advance the main storyline as quickly as possible.
  • Mourning of Growth: The Isle of Dorn sidequest chain starts with a quest titled “Before I leave” and ends with “The Weight of Duty.” It’s a depressing plot, but it gives a lot of emotional depth to who the Earthen really are.
  • Broken tools: This quest set takes place in The Ringing Deeps. You’ll work with Machinist Kittrin on the quest “Discarded and Broken”. You’ll finish it once you’ve completed “Reforged Purpose”.
  • Merrix and the Steel Wire:This is a questline that begins in Dornogal with “How Scandalous”. It ends in Ringing Deeps with “Bad Business” and is a great look into the political side of Grounder culture.

What are the abilities of The Earthen?

While they may look like dwarves, these modern friends are more accurately described as “living constructs.” They are made of stone and metal, but they have a great deal of free thought and emotion. Many of these traits are reflected in their racial abilities.

  • Azerit Wave: An empowered spell attack that becomes more powerful the longer you hold it. “Draw upon your inner strength. Release to summon the power of Azerite in a cone in front of you, dealing Fire damage.” Rank 1 deals Fire damage, Rank 2 heals allies hit by the effect, and Rank 3 deals additional Fire damage to the highest health enemy hit.
  • Hyperproductive: Increases Finesse by 2%. This increases the chance of collecting additional materials when gathering. This is an especially forceful race if you want a character who collects materials for their alts or sells at auction. They CAN drink potions and flasks for additional benefits and healing.
  • Consume minerals: You are always considered “Well-Fed” because you cannot eat. This means you cannot exploit normal food and will need Mage Food to heal yourself outside of battle. Bandages may still work.
This ability allows you to consume a cut Khaz Algaar gem instead and change what your Well Fed benefit grants you. Raw gems will not work.
    • Amber = Endurance
    • Emerald = Rush
    • Onyx = Mastery
    • Ruby = Critical Hit
    • Sapphire = Versatility
  • Frame made of titanium:Base armor from equipped items is increased by 10%. Of course, the one who benefits the most from this is the one wearing the Plate. Of course, there’s something to be said for being the rogue with the highest armor bonus.
  • Wide Open Wonder: When you gain experience for exploring, gain an additional 200%. This can facilitate you level up faster in modern zones. It looks like you can still exploit The Warband Guide to Everywhere All At Once to explore the map, but you still get experience for being actively in each location. It’s probably easier to keep track of where you’ve been without it, though.

As far as classes go, Earthen have access to a fairly standard set when they create. You can choose from Hunter, Mage, Monk, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, or Warrior. If you want to be a Hunter, you’ll get a unique Gruffhorn starting pet.

What are the special characteristics of Earthlings?

The Earthen have a special starting racial mount, the Slatestone Ramolith. Like all allied race mounts, it is a ground-only mount.

Earthen also have unique Heritage armor once they reach level 50. Only Earthen can wear it, and there are three color shades to choose from. Note: the elderly restriction that prevented Allied Race Heritage Armor from being obtained by changing a character’s race/faction has been removed. If you don’t want to level up a modern character, changing your race to Earthen will grant you the modern Heritage armor.
