Sony is starting to ramp up its PlayStation brand celebrations as they approach their 30th anniversary. And recent images released by the company appear to feature a console icon that looks a lot like the supposedly leaked one PS5 Pro project. Hmmm…
The original PlayStation launched in Japan in December 1994, so technically the 30th anniversary won’t be around for a few more months. However, Sony isn’t waiting until December to start celebrating its large 3-O birthday. On September 5, the company released several announcements and plans to kick off the anniversary celebrations. But the most exhilarating news didn’t come in a blog post. Instead, eagle-eyed fans spotted what appears to be a recent PlayStation console on the 30th anniversary banner.

Both of these images show the PS5 console with three lines across it. This ties in perfectly with last month’s report of a still-unconfirmed PS5 Pro that he claimed that the console will feature three black lines on the front, and that Sony plans to officially announce this powerful recent product “in the coming weeks.”
Edge reports that all PS5 games released after September 16 must support PS5 Prowhich seems to suggest that it will be announced soon.
So is this Sony banner playfully teasing its most ardent fans with the first confirmed PS5 Pro confirmation? This is what it looks like on Instagram, with Sony publishes banner containing an Easter egg and adding “Your First Look 👀” as a caption. It’s also possible that this is a really large mistake, though considering how many people had to view and approve these images and the fact that they were perceptible for hours, I’m leaning towards this being a teaser and not a blooper.
Now all we can do is wait for Sony to officially announce the PS5 Pro console, which is rumored to launch later this year.
