“Let’s see what the team has in store for you” – Helldivers 2 devs to provide “all the info you need” on the progress of the current 60-day plan tomorrow

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has confirmed that it plans to release a blog post tomorrow, September 5, that will provide “all the information you need to know” about the studio’s current progress on its 60-day roadmap.

“As you all know, we’re constantly working on our 60-day commitment plan,” the studio announced yesterday via the game’s Discord server. “To do that, we’re changing the frequency of our updates during that time frame.”

“We’ll be releasing a new blog on Thursday of this week that details our progress so far, the fixes we’ve been working on, and when those updates will be delivered,” he continues. “It will provide all the information you need to know and our timeline for delivering the first update on the roadmap.”

Since that news went live, CEO Shams Jorjani has also appeared on the server to answer player questions. He’s been largely hushed on what’s coming in tomorrow’s patch notes — noting that Arrowhead CCO Johan Pilestedt has already “leaked more than a few bits and pieces” about the game’s next balance patch.

“The trick is to make the weapons feel powerful (hurray), but not make the game too easy (boo),” Jorjani reiterated in response to a player asking for details: “Maybe more dangerous enemies? Maybe softer divers? Let’s see what the team has in store for you.” The director also declined to provide any specific details about upcoming features, such as the space station mentioned in Major Orders last month, saying, “We have multiple teams working on different things in parallel. Some are scheduled for… soon. Some are scheduled for… later… and some are scheduled for… much later.”

He told one player who brought up the thermite grenade changes, “Tell me how you feel in two weeks.” That said, considering Jorjani followed up by telling another player, asking if that response was suggesting thermite changes or if it was just “general noise,” saying, “I’m the one who has no idea about thermite in the current game, but I like it in the dev build I played yesterday. We’ll see where it ends up when the patch comes out.”

Beyond that, the director also said that the “progress” was made thanks to feedback on the game’s long-term progression, which the subreddit requested last month. “That’s definitely one of the things that’s high on the list of priorities that we’re discussing,” he added, alluding to plans to ask Reddit for suggestions on “another topic” in the near future. Oh, and he hinted that he’d be willing to trade his firstborn child for a Helldivers anime, which is understandable.
