Against The Storm already features a zoo of animal-people for you to manage as you try to build a city that can survive the eternal rain of Blightstorm. That’s not stopping the modern Keepers Of The Stone expansion from adding one more. On September 26, you’ll be able to welcome the frog-people as you venture into the modern biome.
Here’s the trailer with the release date:
The modern expansion takes place in Coastal Groves, where settlements are built – as you might guess – along the water. You’ll be able to build modern Strider Ports and go on water expeditions on the backs of water striders.
The expansion also adds modern buildings, such as the Pantry, Cannery, and Frog House. The latter are places where the frogs live rather than normal shelters, and can be upgraded multiple times to keep the frogs joyful, with “unique benefits” selected at each level according to the function list.
September 26 will also be the release date for Against The Storm 1.4, which adds a modern fishing system, modern requirements, modern goods, and other changes for free. However, if you want frogs and a modern biome, etc., you’ll have to pay for the DLC. There’s no price listed on the site Steam Page Already.
I haven’t found time to return to Against the Storm since the game reached version 1.0, but it was already a hit in Early Access and apparently a mega-hit upon full release. I’d trust Eremite Games to do something good with the expansion.
