Nintendo is apparently forgoing its customary September Direct by hosting two presentations tomorrow, all over one live stream.
Nintendo Directs are expected to happen roughly twice a year: in June, when there’s no E3 season, and in September, which probably has some financial reason, but either way, there’s always a September Direct. But it looks like Nintendo’s doing it a little differently this year, as it announced today that tomorrow, August 27th, there will be not one, but two Nintendo Directs. Kicking off at 7am PST/10am EST/3pm UK time is the Indie World showcase, which, as you can probably tell from the can, is all about indie games. If you’re expecting a up-to-date Mario game here, I can’t assist you.

Right after that will be the Partner Showcase, which always features announcements from third-party developers, so don’t expect anything about the upcoming Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom or Metroid Prime 4. Both will be around 40 minutes long. But of course, you might be wondering if there’s a chance of a Nintendo Switch 2 showing up. The answer? No! Nintendo shared in a follow-up tweet that “there will be no mention of a Nintendo Switch successor during any of these presentations,” so if you’re the type of person who spams “Switch 2?” in livestream chat, consider rethinking who you are.

Beyond that, literally anything could show up at any of these presentations. Yes, maybe even Silksong, so fingers crossed, but you’d think a release date announcement would be made at a bigger event than a random August livestream.
The presentations will be available to watch on Nintendo consoles. official YouTube channelor through his Twitch account.
