Design

Let’s talk about colors. This controller comes in three stylish options: pink, pastel blue and gloomy blue coral – certainly a cheaper option that not only sticks to uninteresting black or gray. Personally, I’m about pastel blue – it’s elegant, subtle and just nippy. I give him large thumbs to choose the colors.

This controller feels great in his hand, with a textured back to get a secure handle and a silky, high quality plastic that seems to be premium. The buttons are well placed and effortless to press, with the X, Y, and B buttons and the bumper provide a satisfactory click with each press. The joysticks move smoothly. It also includes classic + and – with two additional buttons, just like the Ultimate 8bitDo computer with a charging dock. To say, playing Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, I was still hitting the screenshot button instead of the menu button – but let’s be forthright, it’s more a problem than a problem with the controller!

One downside are triggers – they don’t have much travel. During the game Metroid Prime Remastered, a game that largely relies on the liberator’s cartridges, something felt. Comparing it to the Bluetooth 8bito controller, the difference is clear – ultimate triggers have a deeper press, thanks to which the game seems much more satisfying.

Characteristics

This controller is full of function, starting with a well-defined D-Pad and responsive bumpers. It also includes 6-axis traffic control, which may not be for most breaking the contract, but is still a function. There is always one friend who insists on the operate of traffic control in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so I gave him a chance – while it worked well with Mario Kart, it’s just my preference. Personally, traffic control usually frustrates me (bowling in Wii’s sport is of course an exception to the rule).

It also contains additional bumpers (R4 and L4), which can be easily mapped on any button on the controller. This perfectly leads to the swift mapping function of the button – just hold the buttons you want to map and touch the stars button. Easy! For those of you who often play in Xbox and try to adapt to the switch system, you can change the buttons so that the experience is less misleading.

One of the more unclear features is the vibration of Rumble. While many controllers on the market offer this function, it is often basic and there is no sophistication observed in premium models. We presented this by pulling out Mario Kart 8 Deluxe again, and the druggy performance was surprisingly solid. It may not be HD Rumble, but he performs the task and adds a satisfactory level of feedback during the game.

In addition, this controller is equipped with a turbo function, allowing you to automatically press the button, which makes it ideal for swift hell games, such as Ikaruga. Of course, it also contains the joystick of Hall’s effect, which means that this controller is highly resistant to a drift and should work flawlessly for a long time.

Let’s talk about battery life now. This controller is equipped with a 480 mAh lithium-ion battery. Full charge takes about 2 hours, which is quite swift and offers about 15 hours of gameplay. This is more than enough for a solid game session without constant top -up.

Communication

This controller connects via Bluetooth and contains a matching USB-C-Nice Touch charging cable! There is no plugin, but let’s be forthright, most of us have a nearby. If not, charging through the console works well.

Connecting it with the switch is absurdly effortless. Just jump into the controller’s settings, select “Change the handle/order”, press the middle button and boom – go well. Or, as Luigi says in Super Mario Advance: “A piece of cake!”

I spent a good few hours in the Stardew Valley with this controller and it did not miss it. There was no random disconnection, without the input delay – just silky gameplay all the time. Even from the other end of my (admittedly tiny) living room remained responsive. In general, it is a solid and reliable controller on the front of communication.

Quotation

In only USD 29.99 / 24.99 GBP, this controller is extremely well priced with its quality. It is in a lower price range, but it still feels and looks good. For example, the Power Wired controller for Nintendo Switch, although only $ 25.99 / 17.99 £, is incredibly inexpensive, not to mention being wired and more restrictive … And your cats may want to play with wire during the game. You might as well burn extra money because the quality is twice.

Although you do not receive the same set of functions as a fully licensed Nintendo Pro controller (such as a NFC scanner or a 40-hour battery life), the 8Bitddo Ultimate 2C controller still puts a good fight. If you don’t want to pay the highest dollar, but you still want a good, reliable controller, it’s perfect. Oh, and I mentioned that he is in 3 colors, right? I think I could have.

Should you buy a 2BITDO Ultimate 2C controller?

To sum up, the 8Bitddo Ultimate 2C controller offers exceptional value for its price, especially from its colorful color options and elegant design. Regardless of whether you prefer coral pink, pastel blue or gloomy blue, this controller adds a very necessary personality to configure games.

It is convenient to hold, has responsive buttons and offers several useful functions, such as configurable rear buttons and 6-axis movement control, turbo mode and Hall Effect Jolests to prevent a drift. Rumble vibration is a nice bonus and although it is not as sophisticated as more steep models, it still adds valuable feedback during the game. While shallower triggers may not refer to those who prefer a deeper press, overall performance and functionality make it an attractive option.

For only USD 29.99 / 24.99 GBP, 8bitDo Ultimate 2C provides impressive efficiency without breaking the bank. It offers solid connectivity and decent battery life. If you are looking for a reliable controller who does not devote quality for price accessibility, this is a fantastic choice – especially for anyone who does not need all bells and whistles of more steep models, such as the Switch Pro controller.

Buy it if:

  • You want a good controller at a reasonable price
  • You like stylish colors
  • You take care of longevity- with the effects of the hall

Do not buy it if:

  • You want a controller with all bells and whistles
  • You don’t want the third page controller
  • You want more than a 15-hour battery
