In retro news, I’m celebrating DS’s 17th birthday, darling Adventure with Sonic Rush. As a naive fan of the blue dude, I fondly remember SRA as a beacon of lithe and hope in dim times; was released in the wake of the game’s brand-damaging 2006 reboot Sonic the Hedgehog (IGN: 4.8). All in all, it’s just a slick platformer with a great mix of 2D and 3D elements in its dual-screen designs. Annnd, reminiscing, I just got sucked into a weekend replay where I will once again find all 7 Chaos Emeralds and 7 Sol Emeralds to unlock Super Sonic and Burning Blaze respectively.
