August has just arrived, which means the last month of winter discontent and discounted content. Today is mostly a day for discounted packs of venerable gold. Personally, I’d go straight for this pack of 6 Spyro/To crash games on Switch. I am also for Build your own 8-game Resi pack and/or paying $23 (!!!) for 18 LEGO games. Because really, who doesn’t love LEGO games?
In retro news: I made a huge cake with the number 20 on it Atari Jaguarimpressive-sounding console that sold just 250,000 units. What killed the 64-bit huge cat? Extensive software delays left a paltry library of must-have titles. Plus, its competitors, the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation, were better marketed and significantly cheaper than the Jag’s eye-watering $700 launch price (1,500 clams in 2024). I still bought one for Alien vs. Predator Anyway.
