Today’s PlayStation State of Play Broadcast ensured our first look at 007 First Light, the upcoming game of James Bond from Hitman Studio Io Interactive, which is to be launched in 2026.
The cinema trailer of the game showed the fresh face of James Bond at the beginning of his career as an agent who joins Mi6 and meets recent versions of classic characters M, Q and Moneypenny.
The trailer also revealed the commitment of Lenie James from The Walking Dead, who will present the Bond mentor John Greenway in the game.
007 The First Light trailer reveals that this incarnation of James Bond was involved in a childhood tragedy, which left him as an orphan at the age of 11, after which he spent the rest of his childhood in various British boarding schools. Later we see Bond as a teenage recruit in Royal Navy, from which MI6 recruits him.
It is here that players collect Bond’s story when he becomes an agent, chooses Omega’s watch and begins to annoy Q, trying their gadgets in the laboratory.
A press message released with the appearance of the game contains the age of Bond in the first featherlight 007 as a “young 26-year-old”. Players will traverse the globe in such a “game based on action”, in which you can choose how to navigate in various challenges-with brutal strength or charm of the trademark 007.
What looks like a recording in the game shows James Bond on a mission, stealing, using gadgets – and his fists – to tame enemies, because the hero is sent to direct the dishonest agent. “009 he is a manipulator champion,” says Greenway at some point. “Regardless of the end game, we will not see how it comes.” Oh, and yes, you can change into disguise as you can expect from the studio Hitman.
The game of James Bond with IO Interactive was first announced in 2020 as a project 007 and since then we have learned very little about it. Despite this, from The Off, and said that he was developing the fresh history of James Bond and a completely original work, and not everything that happened after the events of any specific film.
Recently, the General Director of IO Interactive, Hakan Abrak, said that he hopes that 007 First Light will be the beginning of the recent game trilogy, although unfortunately the beloved Franchise Hitman in the studio is during the break, while IO is working on this game. We also learned in April that in addition to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, 007 First Light receives the Nintendo Switch 2 edition.
