Arrowhead Game Studios has released patch 01.001.100 for Hell Divers 2. The patch introduces a balancing plan, cheekily known as Buffdivers, due to the massive power boosts granted to all primary weapons, strategies, and anti-tank tools. Throughout its lifespan Hell Divers 2Arrowhead has traditionally nerfed weapons like the Eruptor and Flamethrower, but after prolonged criticism from fans, the developer went ahead and implemented a hefty dose of buffs to pretty much everything.
Heavy armored enemies like the Hulk and Charger are now more vulnerable to attacks. In addition to nerfing enemy armor, Arrowhead has buffed fan-favorite weapons like the Railgun, Flamethrower, Eruptor, and Breaker. Managed Democracy champions deal more damage, and their relentless foes, both Automatons and Terminids, have also been nerfed. The end result is a much more explosive, easy-to-play experience—though you can still get stomped, burned, and shot a million times if you don’t play your cards right.
Hell Divers 2The game’s fan base has been divided throughout its lifespan between players who wanted a challenging, strategic experience in the face of overwhelming odds, and those who wanted the fantasy of power as the vanguard of Super Earth. Arrowhead has come close to the former fantasy by taking away players’ power and nerfing their most useful tools. Today’s patch shows Arrowhead’s changing philosophy, as the developer rolls back many of its previous nerfs in favor of showering players with a slew of buffs.

If you posted Hell Divers 2 on the shelf, now is a good time to get back into the fight – especially since players unlocked the Orbital Napalm Barrage in the recent Major Order mission. The Orbital Napalm Barrage literally showers the surrounding area with fire and brimstone, and it’s another example of the incredible powers Arrowhead has granted Helldivers on the front lines.
