CryptoHunter World was created to address the limitations of Move-to-Earn (M2E) and Move-to-Play services.
Our team identified a major problem with M2E services: a gradual decline in user engagement. M2E services gained popularity by providing users with clear motivation by offering immediate rewards in the form of income and health benefits. M2E services require an initial investment, and the more users invest, the longer they have to walk or run, which can lead to monotonous and mandatory routines. Initially, users are drawn to M2E services for the exercise and rewards, but over time, they focus solely on the rewards, making the experience seem more like a chore than a pleasurable activity. This decline in enjoyment and engagement with the service in the long term was the main problem we wanted to solve.
To solve this problem, we decided to improve the M2E experience and make outdoor activities more enjoyable by incorporating Play-to-Earn (P2E) elements. Our goal was to transform elementary exercises into a fresh and fun service, which led to the evolution of CryptoHunter World into a Move-to-Play game.
During this development process, we explored the challenges Move-to-Play services faced and discovered that GPS spoofing was a significant problem. For a Move-to-Play service to be successful, it had to provide users with a clear incentive to go outside. Few games meet this criterion, but Pokémon GO is one of the most successful. However, even Pokémon GO struggles with GPS spoofing, as many users manipulate their location to gain an unfair advantage. The company had to invest significant resources into banning users who engaged in this behavior, and it was tough to set a standard that would allow for harming even legitimate players.
Furthermore, GPS spoofing is such a grave problem in Move-to-Play games that there are companies that sell GPS spoofing tools specifically for Move-to-Play games.
In response, we created CryptoHunter World, a service that simultaneously addresses these issues. The core M2E functionality provides users with a clear incentive to apply the Move-to-Play service while preventing its abuse through GPS spoofing. Furthermore, by integrating P2E elements, we have increased user immersion in the service, making outdoor activities more enjoyable rather than dull and mandatory.
The result is CryptoHunter World – the world’s first blockchain-based Move-to-Play service for collectible RPGs. As pioneers in this space, we plan to present a fresh paradigm for the M2E, P2E and Move to Play genres.
